Episode12: Dipped in Coffee

April 28, 2012

Another month has gone by and we recorded again.

You can find the episode here.

On the needles/under the needles

Maria is knitting the Owl sweater by Kate Davis and tells us, why it is a good idea to take enough yarn with you to a meeting.
Tini has finished the Sidestream socks by Cat Bordhi using Colinette Jitterbug and is still knitting on the ZigZag Top by Marianne Isager

Maria made a wearable muslin for a cute little blouse using Onion 2015 as a starting point

and also she cut the actual pattern tissue for the Minoru jacket by Sewaholic and there were 10 Kimono-t-shirts. The pattern will be available from Marias blog in the beginning of May.

Tini has done very little sewing, she just did a bit of work on the quilt for her sister. And she cut out the Kimono-t-shirt pattern to test-sew it for Maria. Maria also participates in Me-Made.May

On the horizon

Maria wants to sew the Minoru Jacket next and also use the blouse pattern to make a shirt dress for her son’s non-firmation party in the end of May. Tini plans to start working on the Tankini-top that she did cut ages ago. Knittingwise Tini will start the La Digitessa-pattern by Yarnissima. Maria wants to knit baby-stuff for her coming niece/nephew and will begin by knitting another Buzzbee hat (as she did for Tini’s girls and also another friend’s daughter) by wooly wormhead. Also she is planning on starting some boot socks while at meetings and courses over the next few days. Other patterns mentioned in this segment Firestarter and Brainless also by Yarnissima

I’ve got a notion

In this new segment we introduce you to our favourite notions. Marias favourite notion at the moment is a superboard cutting board.

Tinis favourite notion is a slice of soap for marking fabric

Twist collective

Maria and Tini pick their most favourite and least favourite pattern from the Spring/summer 2012 issue of Twist Collective.

Tinis favourite pattern is Sylvatica by Robin Melanson and Marias favourite pattern is Marine by Kate Gilbert.

Disclaimer: Even if we do not like some patterns, that just means it’s not our taste or it just does not suit our style, it does not mean, that the Designer is not skilled or that the patterns are bad.

Tinis least favourite pattern is Edgehill by Amanda keep and Marias least favourite is Paisley by Fiona Ellis.

Something Danish, something German

This time each, Tini and Maria pick a Designer from their home country and introduce them.

Tinis choose to talk about Julia Müller aka Laris Design, famous for her wonderful gloves

Tini has made the Entangled Stitches for a friend

Maria introduces Helga Isager, the daugther of Marianne Isager. She has made the Coral Top and wants to make the Olive top as well.

You can download the pattern via Aminono or but stuff at Websters .
