14: The one with football in it.

June 27, 2012

Sorry for the sometimes bad sound quality and the echos… Tini already ordered a new microphone!

Find the episode here or via itunes.

Off, on and under the needles

Maria finished the meeting socks, she was knitting on during last episode, and also the buzzbee hat (Pattern by Woolly Wormhead).

She also knitted another buzzbee hat in the leftover arn from the socks.

She cast on a lot of things while she was ill: A short-row cardigan for Carla using a pattern by Hanne Meedom as a starting point, a 5-hour sweater for the niece/nephew to be born.

For her upcoming trip to France she cast on the Colour Affection shawl by Veera Väälimäki (which is lovingly called Veera Minimaki by Tini because Tini manages to butcher up the name every single time….) in Wollmeise, Malabrigo and some blue sockyarn from stash….

After beeing on hibernation for over a year, Maria started working on her Dragonfly socks again.

Tini finished her Camilla mittens by Spilly Jane and has tons of the Koigu KPM left and has started a second pair.

Still on the needles: One never tires of ribbing by Jane Waller and Susan Crawford. The front and the back pieces are done.

New on the needles: Turn a square by Jared Flood out of some Drops Lima, that she got from a friend.

Stash enhancement for free: Said friend also gave Tini 4 skeins of 100% Alpaca and Tini also won 2 skeins of yarn from ”Shades of light” over at the RAK in Europe group.

Sewing: Tinis top of the neverending quilt is DONE!

Maria has finished a Tankini using a pattern from Ottobre magazine from 2011.

{The Tankini!}

On the Horizon

Tini is going to sew leather booties for little M. Since she outgrew the old ones. Tini uses this ebook for the pattern. The tour de Fleece is coming up and tini will be spinning along in Team Yeti the German equivalent of Team Sasquatch.

Maria is going to work on her skirtpattern once she returns from vacation and she wants to knit a ton in France 🙂

I’ve got a Notion

Tini: Organ Needles for sewing machine.

Maria: An app called The knit counter

Life in Denmark-Life in Germany

Flags and how we use them and a bit about the UEFA EU-football (that is soccer for those of you in the US) championship.

The sockreport

We talk about the newest e-magazine, the sock report.

Maria isn’t so keen on fingering weight yarn, she really thought the shadow wrap tutorial was great and she loves Blomster by AnneLena Mattison and the Pocket pals by Chris de Longpré.

Tini on the other hand LOVES fingering yarn 🙂 Tinis  favourites are Arcadia by janel Laidman and Suki by Miriam Pike.

She wouldn’t knit Wanderlust by Friederike Erbslein just because she doesn’t care for people climbing up her eg 😉 although the idea is very cute and if you like mountains they would be perfect…. also SkyBlue isn’t her favourite but Tini doesn’t wear fingerless mittens that often….

Life with twins

Tini talks a bit about the first year with twins and dealing with PPD.

The surprise

Hear “live” how Tini surprised Maria. Find the picture here (don’t want to spoil the surprise, won’t we?)
